Harlow Stroke Support-Rehab Centre was formed in 1996 as a telephone support line, but since then we have grown and we are now offering vital services to stroke survivors and their families through Rehabilitation groups held as the Great Parndon Community Association in Abercrombie Way, Harlow, CM18 6YJ.
Harlow Stroke Support Group became a registered charity in 2003. Name changed to Harlow Stroke Support - Rehab Centre in April 2019
HSSRC MISSION
HSSRC are committed to improving the lives' of stroke survivors, their carers and families. Our aim is to enable stroke survivors to regain control and lead as full and active life as possible.
WHAT SUPPORT DO HSSRC PROVIDE?
HSSRC provide practical information, support and non medical advice regarding Stroke and Transient Ischaemic Attacks.
HSSRC are here to support you at all stages of recovery.
HSSRC also run rehabilitation groups.
We hold meetings every fortnight at Beech Ward, St. Margaret's Hospital, Epping. These meetings enable us to meet with and offer support to stroke survivors who are inpatients on the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit.
HSSRC offer a range of assistance including making benefit applications, referrals to Adult Social Care and many other agencies. We can offer 1:1 home visits to Stroke Survivors if required.
Stroke survivors are encouraged to attend one or more of our groups.
