Having a Stroke is devastating, it is a long-term condition and can change your whole life, for you and your family. Because of this, in many cases it needs long term rehabilitation. Therefore, we offer arrange of services. We are very grateful to the funders we have, who make such a difference to the lives of Stroke survivors and Carers.
Our funders at present are:
The Big Lottery Community Fund. They have been our long-term funder. Which has provided our core funding, which has enabled us to, work with other funding bodies to develop our long-term Rehab Services.
Essex Community Foundation. Their funding has allowed us to retain a part time member of staff whose role includes 1-1 support at the Stroke Survivors home, assisting with completion of complex benefit forms, advising about HSS-RC services and also some outreach work to promote the work of HSS-RC and to inform the public about Stroke Prevention.
Harlow Health Centre Trust
Edward Gosling Foundation
A Fowler Smith + Jones Trust. They have helped us pay for disabled transport, which has enabled our members who cannot use mainstream transport due to their disability. To be able to travel to our rehab sessions, and also attend social outings and events, that they were unable to attend previously.
Essex community Fund + Harlow Health Centre, Charles French, Garfield Weston Archers Trust.
Plus many more.
Also, our staff and members and family, in their own time, has raised over £10,000 through fundraising activities.
So, a big thank you to all our funders, old and current, that has allowed us to continue this valuable work.
GPCA (Great Parndon Community Centre)
We continue to be supported by the GPCA, not only with office space, and rooms for our rehab work with Stroke survivors, but in every way. They help with setting up room, refreshments, catering, use of their photocopier. Also advice when we need it. If we run a fundraising event there or at the Link, the staff get involved and help us. They also charge us nothing for the room hire. There rates for space every day, is at such a good price, it is why, we can continue to operate.
We owe a lot to the GPCA and Staff. They have a big Impact on our services.

We also hold various fundraising events. For example car park collections, Supermarket events etc.
But we have to continually apply for funds when each fundraising period ends.
But funding is getting more difficult, with so many charities applying for the same pot of money. So any donations are greatly appreciated.
FUND RAISING
HSSRC plan a number of fund raising events every year. Raising funds enables us to continue our work supporting stroke survivors and their family/carer. These events also enable us to raise the profile of the organisation and also provide an opportunity for us to promote stroke prevention and the FAST message to the general public.
